How Exercise Helps Me Reach My Goals
Often when we talk about exercise and goals, we then think exercise goals. You know the variety: complete an event, set a new Personal Record (PR), or accomplish something new.
The benefits of exercise, however, are not strictly physical.
Lose weight, Gain muscle. Exercise and diet, a well-known duo that helps change bodies. Some people want to put on muscle, while others want to lose weight, and many do both.
Reduce Pain. Time and time again, we have watched pain fade as we add muscle around the part of the body that was originally the issue.
Increase Willpower. We ask people to do exercise for a set of reps or time. We set the expectation, which is usually slightly beyond their concept of ability or grasp. And 99% of the time, they push through. And we see willpower (which is like a muscle) get stronger and stronger.
Reduce Stress & Get your happy on. Countless times we have seen clients come in grumpy from a tough day and leave feeling better, even more joyful.
Simple things. Stay actively involved in life, like keeping up with the kids or grandkids.
For me, the exercise and diet duo helped me to drop 80 pounds, and most importantly, keep it off. Which then allowed me to adventure and do new things.
