Kim

“You have to want it!”

Here is her inspirational story, as interviewed by:  Monica Mueller

Kim has been group training with Reformed Fitness since 2015.

The biggest change came for me in October 2016.  I decided to make a big dedicated change, I completely cut out sweets and then started to track **everything** I ate using the app My Fitness Pal.   As soon as I did that, the difference seemed to start almost immediately and I have been changing for the better, ever since.

Reformed Fitness challenges each of us to form healthy habits every session.  My healthy habit is  I track everything I eat and it has really made me think about what I’m putting into my body.  This really is a lifestyle change.

With my lifestyle change, I have become so much more active.  I love to be outside doing things with my kids. We recently discovered new walking trails near my home which we enjoy exploring.  And with my new body, I actually enjoy shopping now that I shop in the Juniors department!!  My new found affinity for new workout clothes are taking over my wardrobe. Which is a great compliment to my LOVE of working out!

Here are just a few of my accomplishments.  Drastic improvement in my 5K time. At the Mascoutah Meltdown in July 2016 was roughly 48 minutes…on March 31, 2017, I PR’ed with 36:06.   I’ve made great progress on the scale, I’m below 200 pounds for the first time in as long as I can remember.  And I have my sights set to get below 180.

My motivation has come from providing motivation to others. Never would I have thought that **I** would be that person who people ask – “How are you doing this?” or, “What are you eating?” or, “Wow you look great, how did you do it?” I even have a name the ladies in my training group call me, “Beast.”   To me it means, it just feels good to use heavy weights and want more every class!

Reformed Living provides a camaraderie that is essential to my success. I love my training group, we keep each other accountable. Through the journey, I’ve become a tougher person with more confidence. So much more stronger both mentally and physically since starting this journey.  I’m 42 years-old and I’m in the best shape of my life!

If I could give any advice to others it would be, “just do it” and get started.  Then you have to stick with it, just keep going. Sometimes it’s scary and it’s difficult, yet it’s so worth it!

A little about Kim:

I’m busy like everyone else, working two jobs, and honestly I just don’t want to sit around and watch TV anymore. I would rather be out and trying new things.  My daughter would say my most outstanding characteristic is my laugh.  I want people to know I’m outgoing and approachable.

I love all kinds of music, but I’m a country girl at heart!  My before picture is from a country concert Summer 2014…I can’t wait for the pictures from the concert this summer!!
