Oh Workout Buddy, Where Art Thou?

First, let’s start with a list of your friends. People you think may want to start working out or are already working out.

Next, to find a workout buddy time to evaluate and start lining through some names –
1) Is this person likable? They don’t have to be best friends, though they should be someone whom you don’t want to disappoint.
2) What is their level of fitness compared to yours? Are you two at about the same level?
3) Finally, are they as committed as you to get healthier?
You will likely find that you have different potential scenarios
A) You & buddy – If it ends up this friend or that friend, reach out and start a conversation.
B) You & a small group. If you have a few fitness friends who may fit, then perhaps a small group of fitness friends makes sense.
C) You & UMM, darn no one seems to fit. There are plenty of options for you.
- See if your local gym has group classes. If so, find one that fits your health goals, and regularly attend.
- Local clubs, like Meet-up, have groups with specific interests, like backpacking, hiking, walking, etc.
- Hire a personal trainer. They work with you to help you accomplish your fitness goals.
