The Big STEP Challenge Round 2 & 3

Round Two Starts Sunday, May 20th.

This is where we go head-to-head competition.  Teamo a Teamo.

ALL STEPS RESET (your team starts a New Challenge)

The top two teams go to Bracket A and the others go to Bracket B.

Rewards & Penalties after Round 1

First Place 

• $40 Cash to split amongst the group
• Bracket A

Second Place

• Faces First Place & has a no penalty for Round 2
• Bracket A

Third Place

• Faces Fourth Place & has a 10% penalty for Round 2
  • (Meaning they need 10% more steps in Round 2 than the winner of Bracket A to take lead in Round Three)
• Bracket B

Fourth Place

• Faces Third Place & has a 15% penalty for Round 2
  • (Meaning they need 15% more steps in Round 2 than the winner of Bracket A to take lead in Round Three)
• Bracket B

Round 2, 10 Day Challenge ALL STEPS RESET

Rewards and Penalties After Round 2

• Winner of Bracket A splits $50 cash
• Bracket B Straight Steps determine Winner of Bracket B.
• Placement Penalties Determined for Round 3
  • 1st Place – No Penalty
  • 2nd & 3rd Place – 15% Penalty
    • (To win big prize must have 15% more steps than Round 2 1st Place above)
  • 4th Place – 20% Penalty
    • (To win big prize must have 20% more steps than Round 2 1st Place and step for step over the penalty to beat 2nd or 3rd if they are aboe penalty amount)
  • After penalty it is top average steps for step.
    • Example for Round 3: 1st place team has 50,000 steps average and 2nd place team beats them with 57,501 (15% penalty & one step over), and 4th place has 60,002 steps (20% penalty & two steps over)  then 4th place team takes the Big STEP Challenge $200 prize by beating 1st place team penalty and 2nd place team by 1 step.

Penalties make it crazy….

• Assuming Bracket B does not overcome the step penalty, the winner of Bracket A moves forward, wins cash, no penalty.  The other team in Bracket A has a 15% step penalty in Round 3.  Winner of Bracket B has a 15% penalty and the alternate Bracket B team has a 20% penalty.

Potential Upsets Round 2 

If Bracket B participant has after penalty more steps than Bracket A winner they go into Round 3 as the team to beat with no penalties.

Upset Example 1 –  One Team Upsets: 

• Assume Bracket A Winner 120,000 step average.
• In Bracke tB – If Round 1 3rd place team has (10% penalty applied) 132,001 step average they take 1st place entering Round 3 (penalty free)
• Bracket B winner 1st Place, Bracket A winner 2nd place, Alternate Bracket A 3rd place, Alternate Bracket B 4th place.

Upset Example 2 – Bracket B Upsets Bracket A: 

• If both of these happen:
• If Round 1 3rd place team has (10% penalty applied) 132,001 step average they take 1st place entering Round 3 (penalty free)
• If Round 1 4th place team has (15% penalty applied) 138,001 step average they take 1st place entering Round 3 (penalty free)
• If both are above winner of bracket A average steps, then whomever has more steps after the pentaly takes first place, the other team then inherits 2nd place overall entering into Round 3
• Steps for step over the 132,001 and 138,001 become 1st and 2nd in Round 3.  Winner Bracket A is 3rd, and Alternate Bracket A is 4th.

Round 3, 3 Day Finale – ALL STEPS RESET.
